I would first like to start off with the thought that I’m not intending to be a doom and gloom type of person here. But it is something to think about. I am as sick of hearing about the possible demise of Sonic Foundry’s audio division as the next guy, and I really enjoy and support their software and loop libraries. I particularly like Acid Planet as a place to interact, showcase, and just have a good time. Yes, the rating system as it is applied is totally bogus, but there is nothing that can be done about that. So on to my point. IF SF dumps the audio stuff, doesn’t it seem to follow that Acid Planet would go with it? That would be a shame in my book, because even with all its faults I sure enjoy the music that’s there. Does anybody know if there is another place like Acid Planet where one could post songs and listen to other’s songs? I know about MP3.com, but I’m talking about something more community oriented like Acid Planet has become. It would really be sad if AP disappeared one day with no way to connect to all those other artists. I would bet these forums would go too. If anyone knows of or hears of something like AP either now or in the future, would you please post that info to the forums so that we can stay connected and still learn from each other? That would be really cool. In contacting the Acid Planet designer, I found that they have no idea what is going to happen to AP. Or at the very least they’re not saying anything. Best regards to all.
