i'm using SF 6.0d. when i have opened a file and i zoom in all to an 8:1 ratio and lower, i see these little dots that mark the beginning of each sample.

is there a way to turn this off, as i actually find these dots less accurate and obstructing my view. i have checked every option in the settings, but i couldn't find it.

thanks. :)

Hi. I'm sorry that I can't give you an answer to your question but I want to point out that I find the feature you object to very helpful. I often need to redraw small portions of the wave form to eliminate "glitches" of some kind. The dots you refer to allow me to more accurately redraw the wave-form.

They don't mark the 'beginning of each sample' - they are the actual value and position of that exact sample. The lines between are extrapolated for display purposes.

Without them there is little point in zooming out so far as to be able to see individual samples ....

my point is that those dots make it hard for me to see where exactly the audio level goes from 0db to a positive value. i didn't need those dots to make accurate loops in SF 4.5, and i could really do without them now. i guess it's not possible to remove them, then?

I don't think they can be removed. However, if you zoom to 6:1 you won't see them. The cursor will snap to sample positions so it's still easy to tell where the sample boundries are.

Also, View->Toolbars->Levels will be very handy for you.

that is indeed quite practical. thanks for the tip. still, i wouldn't object to making the dots optional (hint hint ;). anyway, i guess i'll have to live with it. i can do that. :)

thanks for replying.
