Video Mixers

I am looking to mix various a/v sources for an upcoming stage performace at a local club. I need at least 3 inputs (dvd, vcr, audio) as well as 2 outputs (monitor and projector). I am looking at the Sima SFX-M or SFX-9. Does anyone have any experience with these two mixers? Im mainly looking at the Chroma and Luma features as well as overall quality of the images that this mixer produces. What are the pros and cons or these two mixers?...thanks...

Hi,

I've not used those myself...
You might have a look at vjcentral.com as they might have a
review of one or both and also have forums geared specifically
to this type of usage.

Hi,

I own a Sima Video Mixer, however, not one of the ones you are looking at. I am very pleased with mine, and was very impressed with the Chroma Key functionality. When I first recieved it, we played around with the Chroma Key and found it pretty forgiving when it came to shadows and bright spots. Mine has five effects, including a still picture effect that grabs a frame of video. This feature worked very well, producing an excellent picture. The Sima didn't seem to degrade the quality of the source material to any measurable extent.

Sounds like a neat project you are working on!
