I just got Acid Pro 4 as a gift. By the looks of it it is pretty sweet, EXCEPT for a huge missing component...VST instruments are NOT included!!! So I have used Sonar 2.0 XL before and that comes with all the VST instruments already built into it. I want to use Acid Pro 4 because it is a lot easier to use and it fits my needs except that there are no VST instruments (though it supports them). So this is my problem: With Sonar, I was able to play music with my midi keyboard, record it, and then play it back as 1 of like 100 different instruments in Sonar. How can I do this with Acid Pro 4? Do I need some extra software, if so, what? Or am I just totally missing something here. Thanks a lot for the help. |

If those instruments are indeed VSTi's (they might be DXi's), go to the VST Instruments tab under Options>Preferences on the menu bar and specify the folder containing the VSTi's on your hard drive. ACID has no other way of knowing otherwise unless you tell it so. HTH, Iacobus |

There are so many free VSTi to be found on the net - a whole load of commercial and free instruments can be found here to start with (click on the 'search instruments' button). |

Jeepman: You need to know about KvR. It is a web site that deals specifically with VST instruments. You will find information about all of the VSTi's, as well as links to all of their web sites, both fee and free. There are a ton of great free ones! Just do a search of KvR. The address is http://www.kvr-vst.com/ Good Luck! Baxter |
