Subject:2 Gina Cards in Same Machine?

Hi there, Does anybody know if you can out 2 Gina cards in the same PC to get 16 outs, I have the Gina 24 and the Gina 20. Although they are different bit rates, ive been told i can do this? Anybody else know of this, or tried it? Help! |

You should be OK, as long as you have enough resources (like IRQ's) to go around. I used to have a Sound Blaster Live! and an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 in the same machine with no problems. HTH, Iacobus |

yeah thats what i thought but i couldnt get one of the cards to work...do they have to be synced together or something, or set to the same bit rate? ie: 20 bits for both... |

Hmmm. No, actually both cards operated separately, with the Audiophile being my main soundcard. I could switch to either one no problem. According to this KB article, setting the projects to 24-bit should work just fine with both cards. Which one wouldn't work? The Gina 20? Did you contact Echo's Tech Support yet? HTH, Iacobus |

Yeah i contacted them but they have told me yes it can be done and no it can't as they cards are 2 different bit rates. I just wanted in Acid to have Gina 24 1/2 3/4 5/6 7/8 and the same with the Gina 20, for 16 outs...... |

Anyway, I've found their tech support to be extraordinary. I can't imagine you won't get a clear answer to this. Also, if you can afford it, consider upgrading your Gina 20 to another 24 which will definitely work. Good luck! drbam |
