I've got a live recording that I want to run from begining to end with no fades yet have seperate tracks for each piece of music. Can I do this in sound forge 5.0?

No, but CD Architect can do this.

I have Version 4.5 and although you "officialy" can't do it, I have been doing it on some of my 587 full, live concerts. It took longer at first, but now it goes really smoth. Remember, it may seem like a hassel, but now I find it fast and easy. I play the concert, when it goes inbetween songs I click on the STOP button and immediately click on RECORD (The computer software, not the source). After I get done I have; untitled001, untitaled002, untitaled003, untitaled004, etc...., Just drag and drop each one into the Burning software. I used to have a gap between the songs but I fixed that in my CD recording software (Easy CD Creator 4). Juat have it for "Disc at once" not "Track at once". That elimanates the gap. Like I said, it may SEEM like it's hard, but it's really fast and easy once you do a few. I allmost prefere to do it this way it's so easy.
What made me come here to this forum is I just got done with a DLR Van Halen Concert. I just played it and it has track # and is smoth transmission form track to track. You would never know any differnce form a new CD.

I would never even concider a program for $300 (even the $209 on sale). The demo only has a 2 minute limit and beeps so i'll pass. I saw a really nice wav-editor that will add tracks to a live recording that I saw for $30-40 but I can't remember what the name of it was.

Ahead's Nero CD burning app lets one drop in track number markers at random points. (for DAO burns) The program would have to be one piece to begin with though.
I don't know about the free Nero express.

Here's how I do it:
1. Enter your Markers (you must enter a Marker at file-end for step 5 or 6)
2. Switch the Status display to Time & Frames (can do this from main toolbar or Regions list)
3. Open the Regions List. Use the arrow box to nudge each Marker by 1 frame so it is on a frame boundary (so you'll avoid the pops at track seams). Don't nudge the first and last Markers
4. Save the file (I want to save the Markers, not the Regions created in 6.)
5. Convert Markers to Regions
6. Extract Regions to individual .wav files
7. Burn the individual .wav files using Nero (use DAO burning)
8. Create an image in Nero if you want to make multiple copies
9. Delete individual .wav files

Works fine. Don't need cue lists or separate .wav splitting software and you don't have to reopen the file to apply different software.

I guess we are to assume you never actually paid for SoundForge then ?

The easiest way is to simply press "M" to drop a marker in the file while recording. If you have bought CDA5 at it's low promo introductory price, you could then have loaded the file and clicked on 'Convert marker To Tracks', and Bob's your uncle.

All that previous pissing around on 500+ recordings (!) - how much do you value your time at ?

Count another vote for another user who would rather see CD architect features within Sound Forge for my poll. As I've said, we don't need seperate apps and to pay an additional $300, where you can do most everthing CD Architect can do within Sound Forge, except assemble the tracks and make a disk-at-once recording. For those users who don't own Sound Forge, this is a great product, but for the rest of us who do, give us the essentials that every other stereo mastering editor has like assembling tracks and burning a simple disk-at-once CD within our mastering software.
