I have an IBM thinkpad P3 850 Mhz with an internal crystal soundfusion soundcard and Windows 2000 prof. Every time I try to record audio, nothing shows on the monitors, then as soon as I hit "stop", Acid gives me an error message ("an exception has occurred") and then crashes. The record take which should've happened appears in the record folder as a 1k wave file(nothing), and it does this EVERY TIME. I have tried upgrading to 4.0b, using different recording qualities, and using the classic wave driver and microsoft sound mapper, and nothing works. Please help. BTW soundcard does work for recording in other apps. Thankz in advance. -m5K PS MIDI recording works fine. it's just audio that's broke. |

It's a Crystal soundfusion, which came installed with the laptop (internal). I don't want to put up $ for another card unless I'm sure that's the problem, and I'm not sure since I know the Soundfusion works with all other apps. |

Does IBM have updated drivers for that laptop model's soundcard on their Web site? If you're having problems finding it, give the ThinkPad model and I'll try looking. Even if they're not updated, it's worth a shot to reinstall them. HTH, Iacobus |

Well, I removed the drivers and reinstalled them, and damned if it didn't work! Thanks so much-the simplest thing is the one thing I didn't try. Peace m5k |
