Adding a Panoramic shot to Vegas

HI,

I had an idea about using panoramic shots in Vegas. I have recently got interested in photographing panoramic shots of landscapes (mountains, skylines, etc.), stitching them together on the PC. I had an idea of adding one of these shots to the timeline in Vegas. This of course shrinks the image to fit in the 720x480 frame size. I used Track Motion to zoom in on the picture and fill the frame, however the picture becomes fuzzy like it was blown up. The picture is actually 5252x1620 (a 4 picture stitch at 5 megapixels), but it is like the picture is only 720x222 and it is being enlarged.

Anyways, my idea consisted of setting a keyframe at the left side of the panorama and slowly panning to the right side of the panorama. This could be done as a motion background for a photo slideshow to make it a bit more interesting.

I was wondering if anyone knows how I can resize this photo in Vegas and keep a crisp clear picture? Thanks in advance.

Jimmy

Well, you can change the properties of the video screen to larger dimensions. Then you wouldn't be able to do all that you wanted though. I know why you have the low quality but i don't really know how you could fix it. It might be worth a shot to make the image smaller on photoshop while keeping the pixels the same, then trying to zoom in in Vegas.

You might try using Pan/crop... methinks that's sorta what it's there for. YOu might open the P/C panel and right click in the image area and select match output aspect... then size the window to 655x480.

Track motion is more often used for moving elements inside the frame.
