As the title implies, the user-driver Acid Pro 4 VSTi compatibility list has been updated. It's still a work in progress though. I will add more website links when I have the time. Click here to access. - Nick |

Hey great job nick! One question though. On your list you said that the "plugsound" vsti works in acid. Myself and others had a really bad crashing problem using their demo and full version. Is this a typo? I emailed both sofo and plugsounds about this but only sofo responded to me. I hope the issue was resolved. I got some awesome sounds from just their presets. Thanks. Ed. |

Ed, No, it's not a typo. I've tested PlugSound on Acid 4 from beta to 4.0b, and it's worked flawlessly in every build. I'm sorry you're not seeing the same results. What kind of problems are you guys experiencing? If you could give me a little more information, I'll see what I can do to help. Also, PlugSound was recently updated to 1.8. Perhaps you'll have better luck with the new version once it's posted on their site. - Nick |

Nick, very nice work! Thank you! And I was tickled to see Ultradia SE on there, too. :) Speaking of xlutop, one you really might want to be sure gets thoroughly tested is Chainer's VSTi implementation. (Unless I'm just not awake yet, I don't think it's on your list.) I haven't tried it except as a standalone thus far, but if it handles as well as a VSTi in Acid, it could add a whole lot of power to Acid. I'm just in hog heaven, having found Chainer...haven't been this excited about anything in a long time. Diane |

Diane, I've been fooling with it for about an hour now. It's absolutely brialliant, and it works perfectly in Acid (after a shallow learning curve). Thank you Pazzap for the recommendation! It really opens up some great possibilities, like being able to use VSTi's that don't have a custom GUI, using VST effects in a less cluttered fashion, as well as being able to automate all those parameters. The MIDI learn function makes the whole process incredibly intuitive and easy. Along with the extensive routing options, there doesn't seem to be a limit to what you can do. When I get a chance, I'll update the list and stick this beauty in there. - Nick |
