I have a 4 track fostex digital recorder (which works very well) linked to my PIV computer by an optical link to a midiman pro DeltaDIO2496 sound card. Now, very often, when I record a mixed song to the PC I get in the middle of the song, short interruptions that suggest that the HD on the pC hasn't been recording continuously or at least that it dropped some data during a few millisecs...Is that problem related to a misconfiguration of my Sound forge studio software or more basically a problem with XP-pro the system under which my PC runs? This is quite annoying when the mixed track is longer than 5 min because it is impossible to predict. One can hear it only once the file has been saved and rehursed... |

Audio files (and SF temp file) best on a separate hard disk. Also the standard windows tweaks are desirable for successful audio recording/pb: http://www.blkviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm http://www.musicxp.net/installing_tips.htm http://www.nemesysmusic.com/support/W2k_XP_Optimize.pdf http://www.musicxp.net/installing_tips.htm geoff |
