When recording with sound forge 6.0 or even Acid pro, I am getting some pop type background noise occassionally, (like on a vinyl record). I have a terratec dmx 6 fire sound card and the only time I hear this is when I have recorded (whether it be from CD drive, DVD or even from my asrx pro). Any info is appreciated. Thanks. |

It seems we are unlucky having the combination of the dmx 6 fire from Terratec and Sound Forge. I have the same problem and tried most things to resolve it including swapping PCs and replacing the DM6. In all configurations and combinations with this software and this board I get clicks. Replacing either with a different board or with different software the problem goes away. I note you have since purchased a different board - this may be the only solution if you want to use SOund Forge. Regards John I |

I don't have this soundcard, but I can offer some generic suggestions that you may or may not have tried, apologies in advance if I'm behind your curve: *Put the card in a slot with its own dedicated interrupt (don't use irq9). In most via-based motherboards this would be pci slot 2 (second slot away from the agp). *Disable legacy audio emulation, if present. *Try removing your NIC and see if it works any better. *Disable or remove any ATA or Raid controllers on the pci bus. *Temporarily disable USB in the bios. *Use Sysoft Sandra to identify any other clock-hogging devices. *Close down all background apps. Findfast is a real baddie. *Defrag. *If you are recording to a Raid drive, try it on an EIDE system drive, dma enabled. |
