"On December 30, Ernst & Young cited the company's working capital deficiency, and raised "substantial doubt" about the company's ability to continue as a going concern. The auditor said Sonic Foundry's convertible debt is a current obligation and the company does not have long-term credit availability."

Hmm... Maybe you shouldn't have thumbed your noses at the mac community after all.

Yeah, especially since they could have spread their resources so thin trying to support both OSes that they could have had these problems two or three years ago and just gotten all of this nasty business over with earlier.

Well, I think Sonic Foundry's path to it's current financial state is a bit more complicated than that <g>. And SEC filings are notoriously grim for legal reasons.

But I don't think anyone here ever considered our Windows-centricity as "thumbing our noses" at the Mac community. Some people here actually like Macs. I think it is much more a case of not enough developer resources and Mac platform expertise to go around.

It is interesting to note that multi-platform offerings didn't seem to help Steinberg much, who were recently acquired by Pinnacle. Emagic was 100% Mac and still got swooped up by Apple a while back.

Food for thought. The whole industry is in a bit of rut.

J.
