Subject:HELP Monitoring VST synths

I apologize ahead of time for asking a question that as probably already been addressed, but I have looked everywhere in the manuals and online forums. Could somebody PLEASE tell me how I can get my VST plug in synths to monitor in Acid 4? They are installed properly and come up in my instruments list, but when I want to monitor while I record them they are not coming up on my Midi Thru pull-down menu which I'm assuming is where I need to assign what I want to monitor?

Double-click the VSTi in question in the Mixer. Click the External MIDI Input Port button. Choose your MIDI input (which should've been selected under Options>Preferences on the menu bar and then the MIDI tab). Close the VSTi window. Go to record and in the Record window, choose the VSTi under MIDI Thru. That should do it.
