Subject:VSTi's in Acid V4.0...need help

Hi everyone. I am just getting back into making some music after a long absence.
I started way back with the original Acid, (don't think it was called pro then but it cost about £250 and had a funny looking bloke on the front of the box playing a harmonica and drums).
As I said I got the original Acid and loved it's simplicity. After reading a bit about V4.0 it seems a little more powerful/complex now and as such wondered if anybody could help me out with a few questions.
I understand that Acid can run VST instruments. I would like to be able to run a sampler, synths and perhaps something like Steinbergs Virtual Guitarist through Acid. Would this work? If so how. Do you just hit the record button and play something on the VST instrument then go back to Acid and listen to the recorded piece much the same as you would with a normal hardware synth.
Please excuse an old boys misunderstandings but I am here to learn and would appreciate any help you can offer.
Thanks
PS Anybody on here from the UK.

I'm pretty sure that Virtual Guitarist was a VSTi, wasn't it? If so, chances are it might work. I can't remember offhand if anyone was having a problem with it.

If it does work as a VSTi, it's just a matter of routing everything. You just have to enable the appropriate MIDI input and route the VSTi to it before recording.

Check out the demo yet? If you do, be sure to pick up the manual via the same link too. It'll tell you everything you need to know and then some. There are some tutorials on ACID 4.0 too, but those are recommended for broadband connections.

HTH,
Iacobus
