I have an mp3 file that I downloaded from Kazaa, it is a dual Cd album. It's size is 255MB, and it's total duration time is 2:43:17. I want to burn this album to Cd, so it can be played on my car's Cd player or my home stereo's Cd player. I have tried many times to burn it to Cd, But the Cd's are only capable of holding 80 minutes of data/music. So I try and put Sound Forge to work on it. But, I can't find anywhere in my manual or in the help files where it explains exactly how to extract the songs individually from this file, so I can create a dual Cd album set. Can someone please enlighten me on how I go about doing this? Thanx Dennis |

You must place the file into Sound Forge then create files of approx 60mns. Save the new files then burn them. |

You haven't mentioned if you have the full version of SoundForge or the XP (Studio) version. This is a little easier in the full version, but the method for the studio version isn't much harder and works in the full version too. Place your file on the timeline and zoom in to where you can easily see the gaps between the songs. Drag your cursor from one gap to the next so that one song is highlighted. You can zoom in closer and adjust the edges of the highlighted area if necessary. Press Ctrl-C to copy the song and Ctrl-E to paste it into a new window. Save the song from this new window and close it. Repeat for each song. |
