Subject:Mysterious Track Splits??? Posted by: fulani Date:1/20/2003 5:02:01 PM I keep finding track splits in places where I havent performed the command. They are causing pops and clicks on playback. They usually seem to appear in large numbers all the way through several tracks, from top to bottom. In other words, if you find one on a track and scroll up or down, you will find ones in the exact same location on all the other tracks. Using the paintbrush to smooth them over solves the problem , but what a headache. I'm sure that I did not have multiple tracks selected when copying and pasting or splitting on other tracks. Is anyone else having this experience? Any suggestions or cures? thanks

These events that end up getting split are usually events that overlap into the beginning of another measure when I'm selecting. Could that be what's causing your problem? " i'm not quite sure i understand this. when you are selecting what? do you mean when you are clicking on a track ? placing the cursor? using the draw/pencil? using the selection/arrow? hows does the overlap figure into it? why am i getting multiple splits all the way up and down the track list?

I sometimes not watch what I'm doing and end up selecting a portion of an event that's overlapping over into, say, the measure I'm selecting with the Time Selection Tool. Because the end of the event falls under the mark in point of the Loop Region (which is used in conjunction with the Time Selection Tool), it gets copied and subsequently pasted. These track splits of yours, are they juxtaposed, like right down the middle of a set of tracks? Could you be hitting S on your keyboard by accident? That's the keyboard shortcut to split tracks at the cursor. Unless you have a specific event selected on a track, ACID will assume you want all the events split. HTH, Iacobus

i'm not quite sure i understand this. when you are selecting what? do you mean when you are clicking on a track ? placing the cursor? using the draw/pencil? using the selection/arrow?
