Subject:Removing dead plug-ins from chooser 4.0b

Hi, first posting so please be kind. Although totally removed from system including as far as I can tell from the registry the plug-ins from my version of Sonar and other audio applications still show up in the AP4.0b plug-ins chooser, I`ve uninstalled and reinstalled til I`m blue in the face but nothing seems to shift `em.
Do any of you gurus out there know how I can tidy this list up to only show plug-ins that are actually on my PC?? I`ve hit refresh and done just about all I can think of.
All ideas gratefully received, thanx.

Try checking out AnalogX's DXMan?

That should be good for removing Express FX plugins, too.
I never use them.

Thanx mD & fresnog for your suggestion, I downloaded DXMan and it showed up all my dead plug-ins brilliantly, however when I tried to remove them they stayed on DXMan`s list and also in Acid`s plug-in chooser, my hopes were dashed. Am I totally stupid, how do I get it to actually remove the entry or is it a case like so many other examples I could tell you about...it works perfectly well for everyone else but me!.....aaargh! Just to let you know I finally managed to remove all the dead plug-ins from the chooser. Having failed misserably with DXMan I decided to poke around in the registry...hey what the hell !!...this was my route. start> run> type 'regedit'> my comp> HKEY-LOCAL-MACHINE> software> sonicfoundry> Acid> 4.0> DXcache then by clicking on the various entries the name of the effect appears opposite a simple matter then to delete entries for dead plug-ins, Acid is now all spring cleaned and tidy.Be happy for me it`s not often I sort anything out all by myself!! S.S.

Hey songsmith - I had the same problem as you with DXMan. Someone on this forum gave me a link to dxuninstaller and it works like a charm clearing out dead plug-ins. Might be of use next time so you don't have to do any registry edits.
