Subject:Can't multitrack without bleed from previous track

When I record my first track and try to record a second track the first track is recorded on second track along with the newly recorded signal.
I have recent computer, am using windows 2000 pro, and acid pro 3.0.

PLEASE HELP !!!!! I'll be forever grateful.
