Subject:Direct X Plug in Not Noticed in SF 6.0d

I'd post this in Direct X plug-ins but nothing has happened there since last year. I want to use Vocal Remover, a DirectX audio plug-in from Analog X. I can install it properly on Win98 SE (it creates a folder in the program file on the C drive) but it doesn't show up at all in the Direct X favorites. I've tried dragging the .dll into Sound Forge 6.0d and Sound Forge offers to recognize it, but I can't see it if it has.

A friend tried it on Fast Edit and it works fine. Any ideas as to why Sound Forge won't see it?

Thanks!

Try downloading the DXman also from AnalogX and see if the plugin appears in there.

Neal,

Have you set up the plug-in through the DX Favorites menu? It is not going to be available there until you add it to your Favorites. You can click Recreate by Plug-In Name to have the list rebuilt from scratch by scanning for all registered DirectX plug-ins on your system, or you can manually add it by going to Organize and dragging the plug into your Favorites.

Brian

I have the same problem with Amplitube and SampleTank. I downloaded the demo version of Amplitube and it installed in C: drive but SF doesn't show it or SampleTank plugins. SF seems to auto search and locate other plugins and they load; like waves gold, cakewalk etc.
Does anyone use Amplitube with Soundforge, or know if it's compatible?

Thanks for answering Brian, I've been out for awhile. I installed the Analox X plug in as according to directions, then went to DX Favorites and All but could not find it in all. I did recreate by Plug in Name but still didn't see it.

I'll try again, though and let you know what's up. When you say, "set up the plug-in through the DX Favorites menu," what exactly do you mean? I just installed the plug in through its installation program.

If you went to Recreate by Plug-In Name after you installed the plug-in, then it should show up within an AnalogX folder under DX Favorites. If not, please contact technical support directly using the email request form.
