Subject:Split Clips.. crossfading not working?

I'm working on several tracks in 4.0 and am having a new problem. I pull in a WAV voice file and I use the split function through=out the verse... and ACID is clipping where the split occurs.. if my memory is correct, in past versions when I split ACID would prevent clipping of a WAV that doesn't split at the ZERO spot.. but now every split clips and I have to manually adjust each split to try to prevent the clipping which is quickly becoming a nightmare!!

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated!

It clips? I'm not sure what could be actually causing this. Is the Quick fade edges of audio events option checked on the Audio tab under Options>Preferences on the menu bar?

Yes, it is set to 10ms... I tried 20ms and that doesn't cure the beyotch either.

When I zoom into the split.. I notice that it invariable will never split where the wav cross the ZERO.. which normally causes a clip.. playing a WAV doesn't start at the ZERO (middle horizontal position of the WAV). This could be part of the problem.. but I thought ACID corrected this?? NO?

When I split events, it never clips the meter. The worst that should happen is maybe you'll get clicking from the lack of a zero crossing.

Have you tried either uninstalling/reinstalling ACID and/or uninstalling/reinstalling your soundcard's drivers?

Yes, I have reinstalled both. The problem persists... voice wave tracks CLIP at all split points.. because, like you said, they are not split at the zero crossing point in the wave file.

ANY IDEAS??? I know there is a solution this junko.

What's your soundcard? Try switching from ASIO to WDM or vice versa.

Try also lowering your video acceleration. (I doubt if that will help, but you never know...)
