Animated backgrounds? Big deal. Digital Juice has been flogging those for ages (I bought volumes 1 - 8 for a great price in 2001)

Mebbe so, and DJ/DP are pretty good. And also require a lot of render time. These are rendered out already as avi files, and I don't know about you, but there is always a need for more backgrounds, textures, etc. Unless you don't do much compositing/titling/overlay and then it might not matter to you.
Loops weren't new when ACID released either. But SOFO took loops to a new level. I suspect that they'll do the same with these.

SONIC FOUNDRY will take these to a new level????
Could it be SoFo is hanging on to the A/V side after all??
SPOT you son of a gun! Don't you know I'm going to read SO MUCH MORE into what you post than what you might have meant. At least until "The announcement".
Can you tell I want SoFo to hang on to these?

Awesome! Are they encoded in NTSC? Can you get them in PAL???

You can get free ones (updated monthly) here for now , courtesy of MainConcept

Is this the "big announcement" expected "sunday night", from one of Doug's previous emails?

Following up on vonhosen's post: Main Concept sells 100 .AVI textures for $19.95. It's a real "stretch" for me to get excited about spending $100 for 25. I like SoFO but...

I'm hoping that VV4 will incorporated a Random Generator like the one in Main Concept's NLE so we can produce our own textures. Which leads me to wonder if Main Concept and SoFo are....

Anyway, I'm just excited about attending the VASST TOUR in Los Angeles!

The day I have enough animated textures and backgrounds in stock will never happen. The price appears to be in a good range and I like the style. I will be watching to see what happens with it!

Actually I wasn't too excited about Main Concept's backgrounds and textures when I viewed them. Sonic's look to be real quality!

That was my thought too. I download them every now and again, but have yet to use them as anything but mask fillers.

Can someone give us an idea of what these textures do? I just use video stuff that I've shot myself to edit. What will a product like this add?

For a neophyte coming to video from audio...

I agree that the SF new ones look a lot better.

Just posted the link so that anyone who didn't know about it could get them.
It can't hurt to have them.

SPOT, can you answe rif they are in PAL or just NTSC??, thanks

Let me guess. One of the 'secret' tools will be Particle Effects (judging from backgrounds).
Any other ideas?

Suggestion for a future library: Top and bottom thirds. Not that some of the ones shown couldn't be masked to a third, but if some were designed with that in mind...

Looks like a cool product.

Awesome, I just downloaded them.
Spot|DSE wrote on 1/14/2003, 10:08 AM
i believe they are NTSC-only at the moment. If I'm incorrect, I'm sure someone from SOFO will correct me ASAP
