OK, PLEASE HOLD THE LAUGHS TO A BARE MINIMUM...I NEED SOME SERIOUS HELP WITH MIDI!!!
I AM WORKING ON A REMIX (FIRST PROFESSIONAL ONE) AND I AM HOOKED ON ACID (THE PROGRAM) AND WANT TO USE IT FOR THE REMIX. MY PROBLEM IS WITH THIS FU*%ING MIDI SH*T!!! I DONT GET IT!! I KNOW WHAT MIDI IS...I KNOW WHAT IT CAN DO, BUT HERE ARE MY PROBLEMS...
1. I HAVE AN "OXYGEN 8" KEYBOARD MIDI MODULE. HOW DO I GET ACID TO RECOGNIZE THAT SO THAT I CAN USE IT TO RECORD KEYBOARD SOUNDS??
2. HOW DO I GET ACID TO SYNC WITH OTHER PROGRAMS? (IE, REASON) AM I OFF MY ROCKER TO ASSUME THAT I CAN LOAD MY ACCAPELLA INTO ACID AND HAVE IT SYNC WITH REASON AND ALL BE THE SAME TEMPO AND EVERYTHING?? I NEED SOME SERIOUS HELP.
3. THE BUILT IN VST SOFT SYNTH IN ACID ONLY ALLOWS ME TO PLAY ONE REGULAR PIANO SOUND, NOTHING ELSE...EVEN IF I CLICK ON OTHER VOICES.

THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER QUESTIONS. IS THERE A GOOD BOOK OR TUTORIAL OR ANYTHING ANYONE CAN SUGGEST TO ME TO HELP WITH THIS MIDI STUFF??? NOT HELP WITH WHAT MIDI IS...I KNOW WHAT IT IS...I NEED HELP WITH MAKING MIDI WORK IN ACID AND HELP WITH LINKING ACID TO SYNC WITH OTHER PROGRAMS.
PLEASE...I BEG OF YOU...PLEASE HELP!!!! :-(

Marc, before we can help you, you need to do two things:

First, turn off the capital letters, please. I've only read half your post, and I've already got a headache. Caps are very hard on the eyes for online reading and are considered either hostile or stupid by many people online--meaning they don't bother reading your post.

Second, it would help if you would break down your questions into separate postings. You've asked some very complicated questions that other people may want the answers to as well, but if it's all in a long rambling message, they'll do just like you have done: not try to find answers in the message archives because they can't easily find the information they're looking for--either that, or they're just too lazy to search for the information they need.

Every question you've asked has been discussed at length in this forum. About the soft synth/piano problem: this is discussed here; update to 4.0b. About the midi, syncing, etc., search the forum. You will find it very educational, and you will also discover that many others have had the same difficulties you are having. Sometimes there are workarounds, and sometimes there are not.
