I'm brand new to working with loops. I bought ACID a couple of weeks ago and after using the Mick Fleetwood disc to build an incredible drum track for the song I just wrote, I'm hooked. I'm wondering if loops that are produced by companies other than SF will work properly within ACID? |

Wave format loops will work. SoFo loops are designed for Acid, so I always look there first. A suggestion...Check out the Bill Laswell collection. |

How is that Mick Fleetwood collection? How is it divided up on the disk? Individual drum tracks, fills, etc.? Also, can any track on the disk be used with any other track on the disk (tempo and beat matching already?) The reason i ask is that I have pocket fuel rads vols. 2 and 5. Vol. 2 has individual kick, snare, overheads for each different beat. BUT NO FILLS OR ENDINGS OR ANYTHING ELSE! Vol. 5 has different beats with fills and endings and chorus beats, but I can't use these beats in the same song as Vol. 2 beats because the sounds are sooooo different. Just wondering if the Mick Fleetwood is really good. Fresnog |

I'm an unabashed fan of the Fleetwood disc... It's divided into a few sections-- Dry Grooves & Fills, Grooves and Fills... and a couple of others that I can't remember off the top of my head. They are then split into 3 groups-- which, again (sorry, it's REALLY late & I'm at work), I can't remember off the top of my head, but they adaquetely group the bpm. One falls around 80 bpm, another (the 'rock folder) set of loops come in around 120 bpm, the third higher than that, if memory serves. And I use the loops together ALL the time-- they work very, VERY well together! David. |

I agree wholeheartedly that the Fleetwood disc is excellant. Of course I'm new to Acid, so I don't have the experience to judge it against other drum discs. The only thing I didn't find was any endings. I'll have to look again, but if there are none, that would be dissapointing. It didn't matter on the song I did, as a fade out was perfect. I came away with a whole lot more respect for Mr Fleetwood's drumming. He layed down what, around a thousand different loops? The cat is very knowledgeable and obviously has practiced a whole lot for a long time. It has opened my eyes/ears to the importance of his drumming to his band's success. I'm going to have to pull out the old Fleetwood Mac stuff and listen a little closer to what he's doing. Lt |

I have the Fleetwood CD and agree that it is very good. But my favorite is the drumsugar CD. It has more of what I like. I'm not taking anything away from the Mick Fleetwood CD. It is great! |

Glad to hear drumsugar is good. Is there any particular musical style that Drumsugar is aimed at? My personal main creative interest is in classic rock/pop. Lt |

They work well for rock/pop. The loops are a little more on the funky side. They are used regularly in 8 packs, because they are so usable. Did you check out the sample loops? |

One of the main reasons loops scare me is you can only use so many before your machine starts spazzin out on ya, because they involve so much mem use... |

<Did you check out the sample loops?> If you're refering to the freebee loops that came with the program when I bought it, yes I did. I haven't gotten around to downloading any free ones. How are those? Lt |

I think he meant the samples available on the product webpage. There are samples from each library you can download (about 5 or6). http://www.sonicfoundry.com/loop_libraries/ShowLoop.asp?PID=458 This link is for DrumSugar, if you look below the library description you'll see the samples available. All libraries have them. Most of them also have a sample song. M |
