I have some minidiscs of voice only lectures which I brought into Sound Forge and made CDs from. The sound is pretty good, but the speakers sounds like he is somewhat in the background, as though he is a bit back from the mic (although during the recording he was close to the mic), and its also not that crisp. Does anyone have any suggestions for bringing the sound 'to the front' so it is more crisp and clear? I don't have much leeway in how I brought the original recordings into sound forge, so I am looking for solutions within sound forge only. thanks khalid |

There could be phase problem. Especially if the original recording sounds okay. If it's on two channels, covert it to mono using only the left or right. select File/Properties/Format check the Mono box, Click OK, you will then get the option of left, right or both. You will also benefit with a smaller file size.(1/2) Most spoken word material does not need stereo. |
