Subject:Distortion when recorded to a CD

I've burned a track on a CD in Sound Forge, but the track on the CD is a little bit distorted compared to the .wav file I burned. How come shouldn't the two sound exactly the same?

Are you playing back the CD on the same audio system that sound forge audio is coming back through? I would suspect you did some major processing? Try ripping the CD back to sound forge and see if you still hear the distortion, this way everything is playing through the same process and elliminates a lot of factors.
