I am able to play VST instruments through ACID 4.0, but there is a delay when I play the keyboard to when I hear the sounds from the computer. I am using a MIDI keyboard controller connected to my Audigy MIDI In port. (I wanted to try something besides Soundfonts) What am I doing wrong? Any help out there? Thanks. |

Depending on your processor speed, you will always have some delay between the time a key is pressed and the time you hear the sound. This is an unfortunate disadvantage of VST instruments. If you have a really really really fast processor, you can set your latency to a minimum setting and have something close. The best way to record from a MIDI keyboard would be to record MIDI routed through your soundcard, then render the MIDI track with the VSTi. Playing VSTi's in real-time just doesn't work for most people. |
