Subject:Acid 4.0 (locking up, playing choppy, acting weird)

I'm doing a project with 20 audio tracks(loops, one shots, & a couple larger beatmapped files which are vocals). Acid is running like crap while I'm working. It's moving real slow & choppy and it winds up locking up on me eventually. The techs had no answer for me. I finally found where the problem was: One track is a very small one shot. I duplicated that track 3 times so that there are 4 of them. It turns out that if I delete those tracks, the program runs normal or if I get rid of the plug-ins in those tracks, the program runs normal. It appears to me that the plug-ins in those tracks are what is making the program lock up. I have plug-ins in just about every other track but there are no probs. Why is this happening & how do I fix it. Please help! Could it be because I have 4 audio track fx chained up in each one of these tracks? |

I guess you have too many plugins somewhere. Some plugs eat up too many resources. You could try this: If you have the same FX chain on several tracks you could route those tracks to a common bus which contains the FX chain instead of putting it on each track. Works for me... Gordian |
