Is it possible to create a new product that would take a voice sample, lets say one word, analyze it for proper harmonic content, then select and create new sentences (type in ) with that analized data and then create a sound byte? This would be the next level of SOFO creative genius. James J. Kizak |

You might want to check out Myriad's Virtual Singer, www.myriad-online.com. It takes some adjusting to get the articulations right based on your system's CPU speed, but you can put together some very interesting things with it. |

We work above vocal synthesis already more than three years. Now we have release of the vocal synth in DirectX plug-in's variant which is executed as laboratory version for our Rat's Lab researches. This program contains specialized MIDI-editor and a soft synthesizer which will allow loading various variants of vocal banks of concrete vocalist's voice. Results of researches in this area allow hoping for realization of the user version of the VocalSz in the near future (at nearest a few months). You set in MIDI-editor the partita for singing, type in the lyric of songs (or phrases), choose a voice of the singer from vocal bank and edit nuances and an articulation of singing. Result it is will be possible to render in audio wave. I hope, it will be soon made by GenieSys. In ACID this module will work just as in Vegas, Sonar, Sound Forge, Cool, Cubase etc. And here it is possible to hear Peter Gabriel's "voice", what was singing by our program in Cakewalk Sonar. Quality while below desirable and was sing abracadabra, but it because we have no normal samples of phonetic templates of his voice in studio variant of recording: http://www.genevoice.com/sw_demo/PG.mp3 http://www.genevoice.com/sw_demo/PG2.mp3 ... and first test of chorus voices: http://www.genevoice.com/sw_demo/eugeny.mp3 AlexK |

Interesting, Alex. And, of course, I'm sure folks are familiar with Delay Lama! I'd like to see the day come when I could record my own voice, "fix" it, then record demo songs with it. There'd be a whole lot of fixing to do, though. I can't carry a tune for anything...it would take major magic. |

Autotune might get me in key, but I doubt it's going to make me sound like somebody who can sing! :) |
