Subject:digital spikes and clicks when extracting CD audio

Hi everyone,
I#d like to use this function more often but the results are always the same: an unusable wave with harsh clicks every few second, on left and right channels, but not simultanous.
Does anybody know a solution to this?

Within Sound Forge, have you tried going to Options->Preferences->CD Settings, and changing the settings on the Extract Optimization slider? The case you describe is exactly why we put that (and it's associated heuristics/stitching algorithms) there, because not all drives are created equal.
