Problem adjusting recording level with Gina 20/Console 3/XP -Sound Forge - PC

Subject:Problem adjusting recording level with Gina 20/Console 3/XP Posted by: AlainS Date:1/1/2003 3:55:39 PM I recently upgraded to Windows XP, and upgraded Sonic Foundry to Rev 5.0f. I also upgraded my Echo Gina drivers to WDM 6.05 to achieve compatibility with XP. The driver comes now with Echo Console 3. When recording using the Gina analog inputs, I get a good signal, but none of the adjustments on the Gina Console 3 affect the recording level. I've tried just about every option I could think of, with no success. Any help would be appreciated! Alain S.

I guess I'm out of luck since I feed the Gina from my preamp recout. I use it to record my LP's onto CD's. Do you know of any work around, short of going back to Windows Me and the older Gina drivers? I'm puzzled about this limitation.

They control the analog input level, while the faders control the level of mix for that channel. The documentation is quite unclear, and the operation of the knobs less than intuitive, but it works. When I upgraded my Layla 20 to a Layla 24 I was disappointed to discover that Echo had discontinued the console input adjustment (I used the auto trim function a lot with the 20 bit model). I assumed (incorrectly) that a similar thing may have happened when you updated to the new driver and console 3. ;-) drbam

Ive got the card on an extra pc running win98se. When I tried to use the console3 last year, it crashed everything and I had to reinstall. Is console3 supposed to work with win98se and gina20?
