Subject:Samples sound different in Acid 4 and SoundForge

In SoundForge my 44.1KHz 16 bit stereo drum samples sound smooth. When I add the same samples to an Acid project (at the default 120bpm) the samples sound kind of grainy and lo-res. I don't recollect fiddling with the bpm rates when I originally top & tailed the dat samples in SoundForge.

What could be the cause and how can I fix the problem?

Are these Loop tracks? Try right-clicking the track(s) in question and selecting Use Original Tempo (xxx.xxx BPM).
