Subject:Lockup when recording in Windows XP - Acid Pro 3.0b

I am trying to run Acid Pro 3.0b in Windows XP pro. Whenever I attempt to record the application locks solid as soon as I hit the start button. I have Acid Pro working wonderfully in Windows 98 and in Windows 2000 and for the most part it is functional in Windows XP however it will not record. Recording using other applications such as Windows Sound Recorder works fine. All drivers appear to working properly. Anyone else seeing this problem?? Let me know and I'll give you more details if needed. thanks, |

First thing to do is pick up ACID Pro 3.0g by clicking here. If I remember correctly, ACID Pro 3.0 was not officially supported until a couple builds later. HTH, Iacobus |

Thanks. I have now upgraded to 3.0g. The install went fine but the application still locks solid when trying to record. I am using standard Windows XP native drivers for my sound card. Windows recognizes the card and loads an ESS Canyon 3D PCI AudioDrive WDM driver. Card seems to work fine for all other applications so I really don't expect the sound card. Any other ideas? |

I know this is a cliche answer, but have you tried getting updated drivers for the soundcard as well? Also, did you ensure that you've chosen your soundcard specifically on the Audio tab under Options>Preferences on the menu bar? (If you did, you should be able to pick a specific input on the soundcard for recording.) HTH, Iacobus |
