I recently discovered this synth and it is a very nice one especially at its price - free!

While getting to know it's features, I inserted it into an new Acid 4.0b project and one by one listened to each of the preset sounds.

My problem is that after about going through 15 or 20 presets that all ouput sounds from the Crystal stop. The only solution is to delete the synth and then reload which restores it to working order. This is a repeatable situation.

I was wondering if this is a bug with Crystal or Acid 4 or a combo of the two?

I'm running Win 2000 SP3, AMD 1.2, 512mb ram, 160 gb disk, M-Audio Audiophile 24/96 with latest drivers. System is quite stable otherwise.

I use Crystal 1.5 quite a bit in Acid 4.0b and haven't had any problems. What version of Crystal are you using?

Same question as spectre1, what Crystal version do you run?
Latest is given in Computer Music Magazine and it's version 2.0. An update was given to me by a friend, in version 2.01 because of the following issues:
*P4 denormal (abnormally high cpu usage on P4 machines)
*Sync doesn't work on modulation envelope 2
*Pitch modulation doesn't work with wave sequences.

if you need a comple version of version 2.0, either buy Computer Music Magazine (November if i remember well), or do what I did, ask a friend who bought the mag' (here, in France, this mag is not sell anymore, but still in UK).

Drop me an email if you wish (thierryrobin@netcourrier.com).

I'm using version 1.5 from the website. I just purchased CM with the version 2 yesterday. I will try that to see if the problem clears.

Well, I installed ver 2 and it still gives up after going through approximately 15 presets? I don't seem to be having any other problems? Seems odd?

Well, I installed tonewise's Directixer VST DX wrapper and tried out Crystal, Delay Lama, etc. in Sonar. Guess what, everything works perfectly. Crystal doesn't die, I don't get stuck midi notes in Delay Lama, etc.

Guess it leads me back to what's up with Acid 4b and various VSTi's?
