Posted by: dkistner Date:12/26/2002 6:18:13 PM Santa brought me a new computer this year, and the old one is going to sit there doing nothing but running our home network. I was nice! It just never dawned on me until this very moment that I was not going to be able to transfer my copy of Acid to the new machine. It does not recognize my serial number and authorization codes because, I expect, it's set up to match my hardware. Because I know a lot of people are going to be in this same boat, I wonder if you can tell us what the solution to this is? I'm not trying to install Acid on more than one machine; just trying to move it. If I'm going to have to buy another copy, I can tell you that I won't be using Acid anymore. Diane

You will need to obtain a new activation code if you install a new version of Windows, change the lettering of your hard drives by adding or removing hardware, install the application on a new computer, or reinstall Windows after a system crash." So you need to get in touch with SoFo customer service and get a new code for the new machine. It shouldn't cost you more than the phone call.

I've entered my serial number, then registered online to get a new activation code automatically. Never been a problem and it's worked every time.
