Sorry. I read it wrong. Anyway, go and download Awave Studio from http://www.fmjsoft.com. It will let you convert just about any sample formats to and from DLS. I use it all the time. |

cyberbeat, I have tried the awave studio demo and the audio compositor demo, and although both will do the conversion I get very poor results with soundfonts that have lots of layers. Almost all the soundfonts I want converted have lots of layers (ie pianos). Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I can't get anything usable. I did read that utopia live were going to be making there next batch of samples to work with both dls and sf2. This might be a start. I personally think if you are going to impliment an uncommon format in your program, a conversion tool of some sort is very important, for both practicality and costomer relations. |

If you have a soundfont with many layers, I don't think you are going to be able to convert to DLS and have it sound as good as the original soundfont. It's a limitation of the DLS format which doesn't support as many layers as SF2. |

First General MIDI sound bank GenieVoice GM55 ACID in DLS format from GenieSys. This 55 Mb DLS bank especially was created for work with software DLS Synth inside Sonic Foundry ACID Pro 4.0. http://www.genevoice.com/SoundLib/gmdls.htm |
