Does the volume of the track drive the plug ins on track fx.

is it the input

No. Use the "Dry" (unprocessed) and "Wet" (processed) faders instead.

Simply using the volume fader of the track will just adjust the overall volume of the track, FX or no FX.

Track volume and pan are Post FX - or in more common terms, the Track FX Insert bus is pre fader.

how about with assignable fx of fx on bus tracks

OK. Now I'm confused. ;o)

What is it that you're looking to do, odd? Control just the amount of volume of assignable FX without affecting the overall volume of the track itself?

If so, use View>Show Bus Tracks on the menu bar, and then add a volume envelope to the preferred assignable FX bus.

Bus tracks are the buses - there is no difference.

Yes, they are all pre fader.
