if i'm using a loop that i know is quantized, or pads or sounds without a lot of rhythmic content, i'll usually set this to zero. it's more useful for compensating with loops that don't have quite perfect timing, so when acid's slicing occurs it misses the transients by a tiny bit. sometimes it's just a matter of tweaking it, if you are hearing artifacts you don't want, more or less detection can make a difference. |
