since i've been having a problem trying to get people to evidently understand my question, lol, i'll word it like this....i'm trying to remix a song and i'm trying to put an intro on it just like a ultimix, or funkymix, or hottracks or something like that, and then keep the beat underneath the song the whole time while throwing in some samples and stuff like that, but what i can't figure out sometimes is how to line the beats up. I know that most of it is lining it up by ear, but is there a way to read a wave pattern to get it exactly, exact, lol. it's really been bothering me and if anyone can help, please do so, it's much appreciated!!

thanks,
wilddj

One of the generic answers is to use the built Beat Mapper or whatever it's called. I put the song in Sound Forge and cut it up into precise length pieces. I then use those pieces to reconstruct the song my way. If you cut the pieces properly and put them in Acid as loops, they will line up properly with anything else that is precisely trimmed.
