Hello Been working on trying to burn a rendered track to CD. It always changes the pitch. Sonic Foundry folks are clueless. Spent time on 900 line and wasted $$ Uploaded new version acid pro 3, closed all programs etc etc and nothing works. The "burned" track always comes out a tad sharp to the key. BTW, I'm using a PIII w/ 382 megs of ram I'm just about to throw this thing away. Two days wasted time. Does anybody have any clues?? Another thing, the acid folks cannot figure out why when you make a custom loop, it will not show in the explorer unless you completelt close out of program and re open. They said it was fixed in the pro 3.og update. Well, it wasn't. help!!?? and Thanks!! Paul Adams ppaulpadam@aol.com |

That's an easy one. You are probably burning a 48k wav to a CD. When it plays it back, youre CD player plays it back the only way it knows how: at 44k! This slows the tempo slightly and drops the pitch down a step or two as well. Let me guess, you're using a Creative Labs sound card right? With a Creative Labs card you need to work at 48k. Just resample the stereo mix at 44k before you burn to CD and you'll be fine. Laurence Kingston |

Laurence. I think you are right. Using Soundblaster!! I just took rendered track. imported to Sonic Foundry, and re sampled at 44.1 I was surprised that there was no time in doing this. Whenever I've processed a 4 minute render it takes time. This just went "Bing!" I'll go buy some more blank CD's ( I've gone through 20 because of Acid tech helplessness ) and see if this worked!! Many Thanks SF needs to hire you!! Ya know I have another problem. When I make a 4 bar chord loop, and play it back as a loop it has a bad "wobble" to it. I've tried every possible technique to fix. Telling it to adhere to pitch, Changing pitch of song while making, placing Key at none, making a new song so there won't be other tracks interferring, Uploaded newest Pro 3, Adjusted latency eyc etc etc. It's funny. I thought I had it fixed when I told it to "adhere to track tempo" when recording. Got one loop fine. Then attempted anpther loop and the wobble was there. Recorded yet another that was OK, then went back to listen to the original one that turned out fine, and it was now wobbly?? Again SF has no clue. My friend Dave just got back from his tour with Ray Charles. He's REALLY good with IBM. It's a mystery for him as well?? Many Many Thanks |
