Can anyone help me out? I'm trying to tweak the audio in a 20min presentation that was filmed in an auditorium. The track has a hissy noise and an audience noise and the speakers sound real tinny. I'm looking for the best process or audio filters to get a nice warm sounding voice track.

is there any sure fire way to do this or is it just trial and error with EQ and Normalization. I'm using Sound Forge 5.

cheers
Ross

No.... Trial & error, sorry.
If there is a constant back ground noise like an HVAC system for instance, the noise reduction plug-in can eliminate a lot of that. However the Noise Reduc. plug is not cheap. $$$$ Down load the demo and try it.

Noise reduction isn't cheap, true, but it is probably the LAST plug-in I'd give up. Depending on how much your time is worth, it may pay for itself after a few sessions of "tweaking" for hours...

Hi. You might want to read the post in the above URL. *Maybe* you can make a web purchase of the product.

One of the golden rules of recording= "Garbage IN > Garbage OUT".

Jessariah, NR is about the last plug-in I'd give up too, it's well worth the money if your gonna use it... I do ... all too much.
Red, your right-on again. Another way to put it: "Polishing a turd"

A new look to the forum? huh

Yeah, Red's right. You cant put back what ain't there. You can only de-hance what u dont like and en-hance what u do like. U can never make mickey-mouse sound like pavarotti.
