Subject:compressed audio and Acid

When you put a compressed audio file on the Acid timeline, does it decompress it on playback like Vegas Video, or decompress it as it inserts it on the timeline like Sonar or Cubase? Laurence Kingston |

It depends. Some file-types can be directly read, and others can't. If you have a file like foo.mov, and you find that when it gets added, there's a foo.sfap0 file, it means that an audio proxy needed to be created. sfap0 stands for sonic foundry audio proxy 0, fwiw. I don't know why there's a 0 there. :) Joel |
