Hi, I am brand new to this and would like to know if I can record my audio tapes onto PC (Real audio, wav, etc) using sound forge. Is it a simple process of buying sound forge then linking the PC and tape deck and recording? Cheers Neil |

Neil, yes, it's just about that simple. You'll want to connect the tape deck's output to the line in jack on the sound card. You will have to select the line in from the recording properties in the sound card's mixer control panel, and spend a little bit of time setting a good recording level (loudest peaks should be somewhere between -12dB and 0dB, never going over 0dB). Then after recording choose the file type you want to save to. |

Hello, it is extremely simple to hookup your tape deck to your pc...just connect the output from your deck to the input on your (computer)sound card ....using sound forge you can adjust all of your gains for precise recording & have a blast with all the many different controls.... |
