We're doing some speed optimizing for Vegas fx plug-ins and would like to get a sense of what you use most commonly. Your feedback will help us prioritize, so please list your top 5 most commonly used video fx...
mine:
Brightness and Contrast
HSL Adjust
Color Curves
Gaussian Blur
Glow
A little off topic, but I think a lot of us would LOVE a method to apply a transition across a range of still images all at once instead of having to do them one at a time.
And change the properties of a group of clips, for example change the pixel aspect ratio or the upper/lower field. Or apply the pan/crop on a group, not one at a time. Or apply a mask inside the event, not by the actual track method.
Color curves,hsl
seems no slower than anyone elses software based, but 75% of most render time for me is color correcting,,yeah I need to check that field monitor a little more.
Much of the time I CAN'T use a tripod. I don't mean that I DON'T, I literally mean I CAN'T for various reasons.
Of ALL the processing I do, the following three things are the most used:
SteadyHand stabilization from www.dynapel.com
Pan/Tilt (rotation), in VV 3.0c bld 138
Noise Reduction 2.0, in SoundForge 6.0
Then I get to the ordinary things which I mentioned earlier in this thread, above. Sure wish you could integrate SteadyHand, Rotation, and NoiseReduction in such a way that I didn't have to spend so much time using them. I am constantly ducking into and out of each of my programs, and it sure eats up my day.
i use track motion and pan/crop every project
here are my favorite track fx
1 convolution kernel
2 gaussian blur
3 cookie cutter
4 black & white
5 glow
ps--does slo-motion and fast motion count? if so--they are my absolute favorites
