Even though it was designed to be used with Mac, this little, convenient, USB interface (the i-Mic by Griffin Technologies) is said to work just fine with Forge. It is a little, round, plastic enclosure with eigth inch mini-plug inputs, accepting stereo, line or microphone levels in (selectable with a tiny slide switch). Windows XP sees and identifies it as "i-Mic" immediately upon USB plug-in, and thru Options/Preferences/Wave you select iMic USB as your input device. I'll be darned if I can get it to work properly. Is there anyone out there who has experience using it with Forge? I get it to input, but basically two things are wrong: noise floor is -33 db with hum (just terrible!), and it will only come up on the record monitor in 16 bit/44.1 Khz mode (it is built with 24 bit/48 Khz capability). |
