Good morning. I was just wondering how some of you were burning your Acid songs to cd. Is it a tedious task or pretty much straight forward? Should I be paying any special attention to anything in particular? I have a couple of songs that I want to burn to cd and upload them to Acidplanet.com. Is saving the songs to floppy disk and then uploading them to Acidplanet.com an option? Thanks in advance.

Mmm...well...that depends.

You can certainly burn your projects to CD straight from ACID, but I can guarantee that your projects could use a little massaging here and there via a digital audio editor, like some EQ, normalization, etc.

If you have ACID Pro 3.0, Sound Forge XP Studio 5 comes with it for free. SoFo also had an offer a couple months ago for Sound Forge Studio 6 free with ACID Pro 4.0. Both audio editors only do up to 16-bit audio and aren't as powerful as their full fledged cousins, but they do have a bevy of tools that are useful nonetheless.

Basically, you'd render out to a lossless format like WAV in ACID, and work on any edits in Sound Forge. You'd then take that file and burn it to CD using the app of your choice. (Both Sound Forge XP Studio 5 and Sound Forge Studio 6 also have the ability to burn to CD (though it's Track-at-Once only).)

You could save your ACD project files to a floppy, but remember that no actual loops are included in the project file. Quite frankly, you'd never be able to fit it all (your project plus the loops) on a floppy.

When uploading to ACIDplanet, remember to render your project in the three basic formats: MP3 (for downloading), WMA & RM (both for streaming). More info on that can be found here.
