Subject:Does Acid Pro 4 Have a Crossfader Like CD Architect 5?

I really like the crossfader in CDA5. It reminds me of the one in Pro Tools. Does Acid Pro 4 have a crossfade tool like this? I would be shocked if it didn't since it's such an important editing tool. Is there one? Where?

Crossfading really doesn't apply in ACID, since you can't have more than one file loaded into a track. Remember that ACID is intended for building up loop-based music, not for editing music files. The best you can do in this respect in ACID is to have a file on the next track start before the file on the current track ends, then fade out the current track and fade in the next.

ACID 4 does have very similar crossfading, but it's done a little differently since each track has its own piece of media.

To see it, have two audio tracks set up, each with an event, so that they overlap by a little. Select both events, and press F. Then you can right-click the fades for each and choose what kind of fade you want. Personally, I prefer to just use standard volume envelopes per track, rather than using the ASR envelopes, of which these are a part.

Cheers,
Joel
