Subject:Downloading loops for contest in AcidPlanet.com question

Okay as some of you may know I've got a lot of question and need a lot of help cause I am just getting use to this and I am excited about it. Keep in mind I am fairly new to this so excuse me if my questions seem a bit "dumb". So I notice that acidplanet.com has contest of remixing songs and you can upload them. You can download the vocals and the instrumentation seperately to make your own mix. With my Acid Music 2.0 how do I go about doing this to where it shows up in my acid music. Do I just keep the acid window open and then just download vocals, instruments etc from acid planet and just add to them from the loops in my Acid Music 2.0. Do they show up in the box automatically or what? Where do I retrieve them once they are downloaded to apply and paint to remix and use loops from my acid? I really want to remix that Fru-Frou song I just need some help to get me started. Your help is greatly appreciated from this new and inquisitive to this user to the acid family

I think if you read about the contests, they are Acid 3.0 projects. There was a free 8 track version on Acid 3.0, though. It may still be around.

The files are self extracting executables. They are (whatever).exe. You download them to where ever you want them to be. You double click on them and they expand to multiple files. Tha main file will include a .acd (Acid) file. These files will all be where you put them.

There should be some details on this on the Acid Planet contest pages.

Though the ACID (*.ACD) projects themselves are indeed ACID 3.0 projects, you can use the WAV files packed with the ACD file as they are in something such as ACID Music 2.0.

Another way other than what TeeCee mentioned is to download all the self-extracting EXE's and use WinZip 8.1, which allows you to extract multiple compressed files into their respective folders all at once without having to decompress every EXE one by one.

To keep everything neat, be sure to download and extract everything to a specific folder.
