Subject:Tempo changes pitch in new ACID???

Back in ACID 2.0 I could record a guitar track and modify the tempo, without changing the pitch of the guitar track. It was simple and extremely effective. With the release of 3.0 and 4.0 I have been unable to achieve this and am at the point of asking for help. WTF? Do I have to waste time tweaking my mouse to beatmap a newly recorded guitar riff so that when I change the tempo it doesn't change the pitch??? Or is there a simple checkbox in preferences I am overlooking?

An acid lover.

Cheers,

acidropper,

You are probably just overlooking one or two things. First, make sure your tracks are set as Beatmapped, and not Loops or One-Shots. While the others can be used, they probably won't behave as you wish without some extra tweaking. Once you have changed the track type to Beatmapped, you just need to make sure the "Preserve pitch when stretching" box is checked on the General tab of the track's properties.

Hope this helps,
Nate

Great, that is helpful. But can I configure Acid4 so that all newly recorded tracks are automatically set to "preserve pitch when stretching" so I don't have to manually edit all the tracks I've recorded???? Acid 2 did this automatically, and I never understand why great features like this are taken away in new releases of software?
