I was recently given Acid Music 2.0 (which I know is a lil out of date) by a friend who no longer uses it and thought I might enjoy it. I do like making original songs is a lot of fun, but I am wondering if this program is capable of remixing existing songs. Say for instance I want to remix some Rolling Stone song, can I download the song from a cd into my computer then use Acid Music 2.0 to remix it? Does this version allow me to do that ? Any help and info would be greatly appreciated, and if it does how do I attempt to do so?!? -K |

For what you are attempting to do, Acid Music 3 or Acid Pro 3 or 4 would be a better choice since they include beatmapper. You can do what you want to do using Music 2.0, but it will just be more tedious. I used acid 1 to remix a song i ripped from cd and it was very difficult to keep the ripped song synched. What i ened up doing was using tempo change markers every few measures ( usually shifting up or down 1 or two BPMS ). Kind of like when you are djing and riding the pitch control. |

Keep in mind also that remixing abilities are severely limited when using a song from a CD or other finished source. You simply CANNOT remove any parts of the music; you can only add new parts to it. There is no way you can separate it into separate instruments and voices. |
