Hi, Anyone producing Garage or deep/vocal/french/disco-House? Or anything funky? If so, what software/hardware do you use? Which and how do you use your effects etc..? My problem is that the disco-ish sounds are difficult to create and to sample. I have some bass, brass, organ, piano and string SF2's and loads of samples but I can't sample the sounds to my taste. I wonder how the Pro's do it? I wonder how they manipulate their sounds etc... If there's anyone who can give me some tips, techniques or ideas, I would be so grateful. Anyway, thanx:) Cheers. |

try to look for old disco records/loops for this stuff. then just filter it to taste, a good bandpass can work wonders if you're trying to drop a more techno-ish kick under it. be sure to slice it up and edit the samples alot to get something original out of it! taking just 1/8 or 1/16 notes worth in the chopper and re-arranging can give you some great loops. |

I haven't used it, but Lounge Lizard may help you with some of the piano sounds. I would expect it to do a good Rhodes, even if you have to filter the output. TeeCee |
